Metaphor
A metaphor is a direct comparison of two unalike things.
Example from "The Most Dangerous Game" by Richard Connell: "The Cossack was the cat; Rainsford was the mouse." He compares a Cossack to a cat because of the similarities between the Cossack and a cat. Rainsford was called a mouse because he was in a similar situation; a cat and mouse chase.
